An Occasional Series on Topics of the Day

Saturday, October 15, 2011
In spiritual combat, Christians are sustained both by the Word of God proclaimed in Scripture and by the Body of Christ received in the Eucharist.  Fr. Stephen Ryan, O.P., will present a FREE lecture on last year's papal encyclical Verbum Domini (The Word of God) at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 15, at Mt. de Sales Academy , Catonsville , MD.  The talk highlights the practice of lectio divina (sacred reading) as a means of prolonging contact with the Word of God, and he will also introduce Catholic translations helpful for prayer and study.  Free coffee and donuts will follow.  For more information, call either Eric Pavlat at 301-345-8077 or Rich Hauf at 410-747-0398.

Directions can be found here.
Fr. Stephen Ryan, O.P., is a professor of sacred Scripture at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.
